About
James grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois with a heavy interest in creating his own art. Inspired by artists like Dave Dorman and Ralph McQuarrie, James was originally trained in watercolor. Since then he has transferred his skills to the digital world of Photoshop, Illustrator, Maya, and ZBrush.
With an eye for technical detail, a passion was born for exact replication of fantasy armor and weaponry from movies and video games. His first costume was Boba Fett, which was donned at Wizard World Chicago 2011. Next was the NCR Veteran Ranger where he explored San Diego Comic Con in 2012.
With technology rapidly evolving, 3D printers have allowed James to print anything he can envision in his mind. The ability to rapidly prototype parts has helped create highly detailed costumes with quality. Knowing this, James’ primary focus has become to hone both his hard surface and organic 3D modeling skills in Maya and Zbrush which will allow for easier, faster and better construction quality of his props and costumes.
With each new project or finished cosplay that James completes, he gains exponential knowledge in mold making, modeling, 3D printing, assembly, painting and probably most of all, attention to detail for creating the most screen accurate realistic replicas and cosplay possible.
